WCI - Work, Community, and Independence is a private non-profit agency providing residential and employment/day supports to people with a wide range of intellectual and developmental disabilities.
WCI is looking to fill a Support Coordinator Position in our Day Supports Program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.A. and two-year’s experience working with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, behavioral challenges, and/or physical disabilities.
- Valid Driver’s license is required.
- Day Support experience and/or supervisory experience preferred.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Enhance and expand the quality and scope of services.
- Develop and oversee the implementation of Individual Support Plans (ISP).
- Ensure efficient running of daily site activities.
- Supervise and train Employment/Habilitation Support Specialists.
- Supports individuals in making choices to assume as much responsibility as possible.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Revise and update behavior plans, data collection, schedules, etc. to keep services relevant and optimal for individuals.
- Establish a positive, energetic and welcoming atmosphere conducive to building relationships with: participants at the site, peers and staff from other employment sites, residential staff, Department of Developmental Services staff , family and community at large.
- Develop intervention strategies and data collection methods relating to individual's goals.
- Provide ongoing training/role modeling to ensure the proper implementation of Behavior Plans.
- Allocate staff resources to support the individuals in the daily schedule.
- Supervise and train Support Specialists.
- Facilitate individual participation in interviews and evaluations.
- Conduct bi-weekly supervision with all Support Specialists.
- Assure that Human Rights are supported in all daily interactions (staff, Individuals, community members, employees). Train as a Human Rights Advocate. Conduct monthly Human Rights training.
