Current Need
This Tax Manager position is within the US Income Tax Compliance team. The position will be based in Irving, TX but can be remote.
The candidate should have a solid background in both federal and state tax compliance for large corporations. Strong project management, analytical, and accounting skills will also be important in this position.
Primary responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing federal and state tax returns, working with business unit accounting contacts, performing tax research, and supporting process improvement and other special projects.
Position Description
Apply tax knowledge to ensure accurate and timely filing of federal tax returns including Form 1120, 1065, and 990-PF
Utilize accounting and tax software to compile information for federal tax reporting
Support US tax provision with gathering and preparing of documentation for current and deferred taxes
Assist with calculation of state apportionment and state adjustments
Prepare and/or review state & local income/franchise returns
Aid in the preparation of federal and state income tax estimated tax payments and extensions
Support senior management team with day-to-day tasks as needed, such as pulling data from various accounting systems, working with preparers to compile information for high level analysis, and communicating with business units
Train and develop junior team members in tax preparation process and tax technical knowledge
Contribute to process and technology improvements aimed at streamlining compliance and reporting
Assist with special projects, including addressing notices, assisting with tax audits, and coordinating with external providers
Minimum Requirements
Critical Skills
Proficiency working with common accounting and income tax software, CorpTax preferred
Working knowledge of federal and multi-state tax compliance process
Familiarity with Subchapter K partnership tax concepts
Ability to manage competing deadlines in time-sensitive environment
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Strong accounting, analytical, research, and time management skills required
Excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills required
Desire to collaborate and work as a team
