The purpose of the Prince William County Department of Facilities & Fleet Management (FFM) is to sustain the foundation of local democracy. About This Role:
This position leads FFM's efforts, as a member of the Director's Office team, in developing, implementing, and managing the department's Workforce and Professional Development programs, including apprenticeship and internship programs, related auto progression programs, and career advancement professional development programs. A special focus is placed on developing building and automotive maintenance technicians. This position may lead or work as a member of a team developing County-wide apprenticeship and internship initiatives as directed. Additionally, this position assists with FFM's marketing efforts to communicate the department's accomplishments and efforts in support of the County and department's Strategic Business Plan goals.
This position is a high-profile position that should lead to growth and expose the successful candidate to future promotional opportunities and activities. It is the type of opportunity in which the person can grow where the sky is the limit. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a variety of stakeholders, including the County Department of Human Resources and other County departments, external agencies like the Prince William County Schools (PWCS), Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC), the Prince William County Chamber of Commerce, the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry, the American Public Works Association (APWA), vocational schools, colleges & universities, and community members.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum of five years experience developing and managing specialized programs and leading teams.

Minimum of five years of recruiting and hiring experience.

Minimum of two years experience working with high school or college-level students. Experience can be either as a teacher, administrator, coach, or other roles that demonstrate an understanding of school culture and dynamics.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including preparing and presenting presentations.

Excellent analytical skills with a focus on workforce development trends and analysis.

Experience preparing budgets.
Preferences:-
Bachelor's degree or higher in human resource or business management.

Prior experience developing programs, policies, and budgets within a government agency, i.e., local, federal, or schools.

Prior experience and understanding of building maintenance, construction, and or automotive trades.
Special Requirements:
Valid driver's license to enable attendance at meetings outside of the office.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 7.5 hours per day, flexible work schedule between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Some teleworking from home is permitted, usually one to two days per week.
Starting Salary Range: $73,000 to $97,000
