Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing high-quality patient care and will be responsible for ensuring the well-being of our clients. As an LVN, you will be expected to complete vital signs, administer medications, maintain accurate documentation, and remain with the client throughout your shift, staying within eyesight at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Vital Signs: Conduct regular assessments of vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, as per the client's care plan.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications as prescribed by the physician, ensuring accurate dosage and timing. Monitor clients for any adverse reactions or side effects.
- Documentation: Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of patient care, including medication administration, vital signs, and any changes in the client’s condition.
- Client Supervision: Remain with the client for the entire shift and stay within eyesight at all times to provide continuous care and supervision.
- Patient Care: Assist clients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between clients, families, and the healthcare team, ensuring that all concerns and updates are communicated effectively.
- Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond promptly and effectively to any medical emergencies or changes in the client’s condition.
Qualifications
- Education: Completion of a vocational nursing program and possession of a current LVN license in California.
- Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably with experience in long-term care or home health.
- Certification: Current CPR certification and First Aid certification.
- Skills: Strong assessment skills, ability to administer medications accurately, excellent communication and documentation skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
