Our client is seeking a General Manager for a precision machine and fabrication shop in the St. Louis Metro East area. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record of leadership and success leading teams in the same or similar industry.
A successful General Manager has strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and is highly organized. They must have a complete understanding of the shop process and be able to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization. The position’s goal is to bring in profitable work with an understanding of the production cost, competition, and customer requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Review and monitor incoming requests for quotation on new and previously completed projects.
- Track status of pending projects.
- Understand the customer requirements and the competition.
- Review actual vs. estimate cost on completed customer orders.
- Manage inventories along with overseeing the procurement of manufacturing material requirements.
- Understand the capabilities of the company with regard to people talent, equipment limitations, and facility restraints.
- Work to improve total company capabilities continually.
- Supervise shop employees, assign tasks, schedule workloads, integrate customer orders on to the production floor, resolve production problems and issues.
- Drive and maintain a safety focused working environment.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or a combination of documented experience and education
- 10+ years of related experience, preference for experience in a machining-based industry.
- Excellent leadership and organizational abilities with previous experience in a leadership role at a specialty manufacturing facility is required.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proven experience in managing Profit and Loss (P&L) accounts, with a track record of optimizing operational costs and driving revenue growth.
- Strong understanding of business functions.
- Familiarity with industry-specific software and tools, such as CAD/CAM software and ERP systems.
- Experienced in project management.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
