Job Overview:
Position Summary: The Vocational Evaluator oversees the intake process of adults aged 21 and over who are enrolling in Handi-Crafters pre-vocational services. Primary responsibilities include, collecting relevant documentation, conducting person-centered interviews, administering various skill tests, and evaluating behaviors. The focus is on understanding each individual’s unique strengths, challenges, and aspiration to prepare support effectively. The position is also responsible for working with the individuals support team to align resources and strategies to help meet goals. This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to and make informed recommendations.
Qualifications:
Education: A Bachelor’s degree or Master Degree (preferred) in psychology, social work, special education, counseling, human services or a related field.
Experience: At least three years’ experience working with individuals with disabilities thru direct experience providing rehabilitation counseling and/or individualized assessments.
Special Training Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Understanding and general knowledge of 6100 regulations, services for individual with intellectual disabilities, mental health and autism, a plus.

Job Relationships: Responsible to Director of Rehabilitation Services
Staff Supervised: None
Interrelationships: Workshop Supervisor, Program Specialists, Employment Specialists and other agency personnel, referral and provider agencies, families and caregivers.
Responsibilities:
· Receives and reviews all referrals for admission into the vocational program.
· Conducts tours of the facilities and provides information on services offered to prospective clients and referral sources.
· Serves as point of contact for referral source/team/family members throughout the intake process.
· Completes required paperwork and first day orientation with prospective clients at start of vocational evaluation.
· Responsible for entire evaluation period which includes but is not limited to hands on observation in the workshops, administering tests and documenting any noted behavioral patterns.
· Completes a comprehensive written vocational evaluation report and provides placement recommendations following the evaluation period.
· Responsible for presenting all referral and intake information to the Admissions and Discharge Committee.
· Conducts a vocational evaluation review with client and team members.
· Completes annual training opportunities to increase proficiency.
· Undertake special projects and other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $42,490.37 - $46,000.00 per year
