SUMMARY:
The Senior Project Manager is accountable for project financial performance and team communication. Responsible for developing and validating project scope and fee, budget, and scope of services during the marketing and contract development process. Ensures work is completed as planned and in conformance with the design intent. Manages project man hours, directs team members and consultants at all levels to ensure the project is delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the client’s satisfaction. Responsible for coaching and development of team members and identifying top talent to build highly effective teams. This position reports to the Director of Architecture.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, or equivalent in education or experience required.
- 10+ years of experience in architectural practice with prior management experience in all phases of projects through post-occupancy.
- Experience with healthcare, government, commercial, and education projects.
- Licensed Architect with current registration, preferred.
- Strong knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, material application, and manufacturer products.
- Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Revit, preferred.
- Proficiency in Deltek Vantagepoint, preferred.
- Proficiency in Newforma, preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
- Develops and validates project scope of services, fee, and budget during the contract development process.
- Manages multiple projects of varying scopes and leads multiple project teams.
- Manages projects including direct team members and consultants to ensure the project is delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the client’s satisfaction.
- Sets up workplans in Deltek Vantagepoint and updates plans in accordance with project progression including identification of project team members, budget, consultants, schedule, fees, and costs.
- Proactively tracks outstanding proposals and gets signed proposals and notices to proceed.
- Maintains client relationships throughout project. Keeps client apprised of project progress.
- Consults with client to determine function and spatial requirements and prepares information regarding design, specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs, and construction time.
- Integrates engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval.
- Assists in preparing project presentations. May participate and/or lead client presentations.
- Defines staff requirements for projects as needed or directed. Makes recommendations to senior management for staff promotions/terminations for project team.
- Identifies top talent and builds highly effective teams. Mentors and develops team members.
- Participates in interviews and recruiting of professional staff.
- Identifies new business opportunities and cultivates current client relationships.
- Seeks out new projects which may exist or are being formulated.
