Overview:
We are seeking a meticulous Quality Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a passion for maintaining high standards of quality in manufacturing processes.
Job Summary:
Ensuring Customer Satisfaction. Under limited supervision, performs quality related activities. Assist Quality Manager in establishing, implementing and maintaining the Quality Management System. Team leader in problem solving activities for root cause and the development and validation of corrective action
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develops and maintains process work instruction packages and related content.
- Interface with Engineering and Operations to ensure transfer to production of new products are in accordance with approved data.
- Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure the products/processes comply with the relevant requirements of the Quality Management System.
- Conduct material testing and ability to analyze reports
- Analyze failure, corrective and preventative action to respond to customer complaints.
- Responsible for decision making of questionable product.
- Maintains the Fast Response board for new issues, documentation updates and closure within a timely manner.
- Responsible for updates on current issues and new issues at daily meetings and provides.
- Assists the Quality Inspectors with Gage R&R’s.
- Initiate temporary deviations as applicable.
- Attends APQP, Gage Design and PFMEA review meetings.
- Participates in the internal IATF Audit process.
- Assists with the training of Quality Inspectors.
- Maintains and controls Gage Calibration.
- Assists with reporting Quality Metrics.
- Annual PPAP submissions and Initial submissions as required.
- Perform CMM duties
- Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment while complying with company procedures regarding safety and environmental regulations.
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Extensive knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s production processes.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to serve as a liaison with the production facility’s production and engineering team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to read blueprints/GD&T
- Available to travel if needed
- Ability to follow direction and/or work independently as well as within a team
- Thorough knowledge of ISO/IATF Quality Procedures, audit process and documentation requirements.
- Solid knowledge of automotive industry processes such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC.
- Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable Federal and State OSHA regulations along with maintaining ISO and IATF requirements.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of quality experience.
- Minimum of one (1) year quality experience in the plastic injection molding industry.
- Experienced in corrective action processes such as 8D, 5Y, and/or alternative problem-solving technique.
- Experience with using metrology equipment.
- Experience with 2D blueprint and CAD drawings
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and/or standing in conjunction with using a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 25-30 pounds at times.
