Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, create, test and implement PLC program and HMI builds to control systems and related equipment for Material Handling Industry.
- Responsible for providing electrical and controls engineering solutions in support of customer solutions work.
- Electrical one-Iine diagram, power distribution within system (under 600V), hardware specification, and device selection and layout.
- Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming, software interface support, and select after-market support activities. Code development per company and customer specifications on each project.
- Develop HMI programs for system control and monitoring and testing.
- Design electrical systems by developing and testing components. Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods using electrical automation techniques.
- Confirm system's and components' capabilities by designing testing methods; testing properties.
- Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts; evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Complete power feed calculations, control schematics, I/O drawings and other drawings required.
- Write specifications for instrumentation, control systems, power distribution equipment (low voltage) and contractor work.
Requirements:
- 6+ years experience leading the electrical and controls design for complex automated material handling systems
- Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering preferred (or combined education and experience).
- Experience with concept through owner acceptance; high speed sortation and inline scale integration
- Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical and Allen Bradley PLC programming
- Proficient in basic barcode scanner software and setup i.e., Cognex, Keyence, Sick and Datalogic
- Automation background
- Supervision / workflow management background preferred
- Background working within Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLC's, panelviews, AC drives and robots preferred
