Overview: The primary responsibility of the Warehouse Shipping and Receiving Clerk is to facilitate the planning and execution of all the customer orders from the Customer Service Department to final destination. The Warehouse Clerk looks after all the receiving area from the planning and scheduling through to execution of the daily receiving as planned. Through the management of warehouse employees and inventory, the incumbent will be directly responsible for coordinating daily activities in materials movement or handling, shipping & receiving, loading, unloading, transporting, stacking, order filling, and maintaining stock in the warehouse and receiving.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Communicate daily with team members and promote open communication.
· Communicate with transportation directly to schedule their pick up/delivery by their preferred method of contact (phone, fax or on-line booking) and when needed relay information related to their loads (e.g. pallet count and or pallet positions).
· Record appointment given (date, door #, appointment #).
· Follow Standard Operational Procedures (“SOP”).
· Coordinate the arrival of drivers by receiving paperwork, assigning door location, and advising a MH of their arrival.
· Return signed paperwork that is being given back to the drivers after shipping or receiving of freight.
· Participate in the semi- annual inventory count.
· Update and maintain all reports pertaining to customer orders, Daily Receiving Schedule, Door Sheet Control, etc.
· Other duties as assigned by the Unit Leader/Supervisor or Management.
· Picking/Shipping:
o Coordination of all customer orders including but not limited to sorting by shipping date, carrier and destination, assign for picking and confirm accuracy, submit for invoicing and communicate any modifications to the order and answer questions on status.
o Ensure all customer orders received in the warehouse for delivery have their respective appointment, date, time, door number and appointment number supplied by the customer.
o Print labels before picking (SCM, SDM).
o Keep the electronic copy of the picking and shipping daily control up to date and organized.
o Plan the daily shipping by controlling the staging floor and total pallets per carrier.
o Confirm the daily shipping is done according to the daily plan and that replenishment is done before picking activity starts.
· Receiving:
o Communicate to QA, arrival of all inbound materials that require Sampling or QA Releases.
o Takes picture of the freight (seals) as needed.
o Keep receiving schedule updated during the shift
o Print off the Receiving Load Report (RLR) for all the receiving appointments made for the current and next day.
o Facilitate the process for customer returns.
o Report CHEP transfers through CHEP portfolio.
Experience, Qualifications, and Educational Requirements:
· High school diploma or post-secondary diploma or;
· One to three years related experience or;
· Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Effort:
· May walk through the Plant and office areas.
· May pend frequent periods sitting in the same location.
· May be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
· This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, throughout the shift.
Work Environment:
· Regularly exposed to allergens such as peanuts, tree nuts, sulphites, soya, dairy, egg, gluten and sesame.
· Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions including slippery floors.
· Facility may incur extreme temperature variation depending on area as incurred in the food manufacturing and packaging process.
· May be exposed to equipment and processing mediums exceeding several hundred degrees Fahrenheit and noise levels exceeding 85 decibels.
· Requires wearing company uniform, with company provided hairnet/beard net/ safety cap, ear plugs, safety glasses etc.
Sensory Attention:
· Frequent need to give concentrated attention, with one or two senses used in co-ordination.
· Employees are regularly required to talk and hear, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
· Ability to apply common sense to problems involving mathematical skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplication, dividing and written or oral instructions.
Mental Stress:
· Work and environment are not repetitious/unchanging.
· There is noticeable pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy or similar demands.
