Job Description:
Boston Globe Media is seeking a Senior Manager of Digital Analytics who will play a critical role in driving a quantitative approach into core strategies around user experience, content, marketing and product development. They will provide insight into the behavior of customers and potential customers, identifying key trends in areas like discovery, content consumption, usability and purchase behavior. This role will contribute heavily to the organization by providing analysis and strategy recommendations to inform and measure key business decisions across multiple web and mobile app properties, including BostonGlobe.com and Boston.com.
This position will report to the Director of Digital Analytics.
Responsibilities:
- Manage recurring reporting: Design and deliver weekly/monthly reports, audience profiles, and performance dashboards to aid decision-making for functional teams. Reporting includes web, mobile, video, and competitive data.
- A/B Testing: Contribute innovative and creative testing hypotheses and be an expert on interpreting and delivering results of multivariate tests.
- Answer ad hoc requests: Respond to ad hoc data requests including information on site traffic, readers’ online behavior, and site performance.
- Develop measures of success: Develop and maintain clear KPIs with a focus on actionability; clearly communicate performance and recommendations to key stakeholders across various internal teams.
- Collaborate with multiple teams: Work closely with Marketing, Product, Sales, Video, Social, and Editorial to provide insight into audience behavior in order to drive site updates and initiatives that increase digital subscription revenue and/or advertising revenue.
- Maintain best-in-class data governance: Build tracking requirements, support the QA team during implementation and handle end-to-end analytics execution on projects.
- Manage team of Analysts and Co-ops: Grow and develop our team’s talent by overseeing and coaching a team of analysts.
Qualifications:
The Senior Manager will have 6+ years of prior experience in web analytics. Knowledge of web analytics tools, preferably Adobe Analytics, including data analysis is strongly preferred.
The ideal candidate will also have:
- A bachelor’s degree in business, statistics, economics, math, or related field.

The BGMP office is located in downtown Boston, near Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, and is easily accessible by MBTA and commuter rail lines. For this role, we will consider candidates who are based anywhere in the United States.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $130,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
