Position Description
The Industrial Engineer II role allows you to utilize your expert-level technical skills in a warehouse, omnichannel fulfillment, cross dock, packaging, and transportation environment. It allows you to utilize your proficiency in project management, Lean Six Sigma, facility layout and design, productivity tracking, and warehouse slotting skills to lead significant warehouse projects and strategic corporate initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Support development, expand and manage the mission, vision and values of the corporate engineering team and apply these to his/her appointed engineering team.
- Drive standardization in the engineering function and specifically slotting, handling and storage strategies, warehouse mechanization, robotization, labor management, productivity and benchmark reporting and analyses, in line with the governance of director of corporate engineering.
- Work closely with other Saddle Creek teams in the designated operations such as site managers, operation cluster leadership, to support continuous improvement and business delivery within the operations.
- Support solutions engineering with validation of new sales proposals that are projected for the designated operations.
- Support operations leadership of the operations with small new business proposals (direct pricing) for new and scope changes of existing clients.
- Works closely with other departments such as business delivery, LEAN, IS, and innovation on continuous improvement and business delivery projects.
- Proactively provide new ideas and engineering related initiatives that support the designated operations and Saddle Creek in general.
- Maintain, report, and review standardized management information and analyses to the leadership of the operations and the director of corporate engineering on program and project status. Assure timely delivery and agree upon priorities and corrective actions where required.
- Maintain, report, and review standardized S&OP planning for field engineering team’s resource planning. Agree upon priorities where required.
- Develop, maintain, and execute processes and tools to share best practices and learnings with operations, corporate engineering team and external stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and act as the Field engineering advocate on all levels of the designated operations.
- Support other Saddle Creek initiatives as required.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or related engineering discipline is required.
- High School diploma/GED required.
- Minimum of 2+ years; warehouse operations /engineering experience.
- Experience in continuous improvement disciplines of LEAN required.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.

- Highly knowledgeable in modeling software and techniques including MS Excel and Access, and facility layout and design techniques utilizing AutoCAD or related software.
- Knowledgeable in continuous improvements processes including Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, and A3.
- Knowledgeable in WMS, WCS and WES
