About the Role
We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual for the position of R&D Manager of Diagnostics Solution Discovery and Development located in our Mount Laurel, NJ corporate office. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership in early diagnostics development stages. This role requires a visionary leader with a strong background in molecular biology, project leadership, and a commitment to scientific excellence.
Responsibilities
- Focused Project Management and Delivery:
- Emphasize efficient project management to ensure the timely delivery of project milestones.
- Implement robust project management practices to monitor and guide research projects according to planned timelines.
- Supervision of Project Leaders and Teams:
- Actively supervise and mentor project leaders, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
- Ensure project leaders possess the necessary skills and resources for successful project leadership.
- Scientific and Operational Excellence in Research:
- Oversee the design, implementation, and analysis of scientific studies in early diagnostics research.
- Uphold the highest standards of scientific rigor and operational excellence throughout all research activities.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Enhance collaboration among different research teams and departments.
- Maintain open and effective communication channels with stakeholders, including the Corporate Management, R&D managers, and external partners.
- Reporting to Corporate Management:
- Provide comprehensive and regular updates to the Management on project progress, challenges, and successes.
- Present data-driven insights and strategic recommendations to the Management for decision-making and planning.
About You
- A PhD in molecular biology, protein engineering or related field with at least 15 years of experience in molecular biology and diagnostics research, and leadership in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
- Must have experience with next generation sequencing (NGS) and nucleic-acid based molecular biology
- Extensive experience with nucleic acid technologies relating to PCR, qPCR, multiplex PCR, digital PCR
- Experience in the development of diagnostics assays and platforms is highly desirable
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams as related to drug development.
