CULINARY TEACHER AT WESTFIELD HIGH SCHOOLJOB SUMMARYUnder the direction of authorized administrators shall:

Teach courses in culinary/hospitality utilizing course of study adopted by the Westfield School Department, and appropriate curriculum publications as guidelines in teaching individual course content.

Instruct pupils in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.

Develop lesson plans and appropriate instructional aids.

Provide individual and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of pupils with varying intellectual abilities, attitudes, and cultural backgrounds.

Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment.

Evaluate each pupil's progress in general science knowledge and skills.

Identify pupil needs, and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils with attitude, and learning problems.

Supervise pupils in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned work day.

Participate in curriculum and other developmental programs.

Work cooperatively with all aspects of the school administrative team/faculty and citizens to insure the highest quality of educational programs.

Maintain professional competence through in-service education.

Participate in faculty committees and sponsorship of pupil activities.

Communicate with parents and school counselors to discuss pupil progress.

Grade student work and enter grades into the appropriate grading system. REPORTS TO: Building PrincipalThis position contingent upon funding.
