Job Summary
The Licensed Mental Health Therapist (i.e., Licensed Professional or LP) is part of a Day Treatment team. The Licensed Mental Health Professional acts as the Team Leader for the Day Treatment Team. The Day Treatment team consists of the Licensed Professional/team leader (LP), Day Treatment Program Director, Qualified Professionals (QP's), and Associate Professionals (AP)/Paraprofessionals (PP). The Licensed Professional provides supervision to the Qualified Professionals, Paraprofessionals, and Associate Professionals within the program. The LP assists their clients in learning, developing, and utilizing coping strategies, social skills, and other skills to become successful and improve functioning in the school, home, and community settings. The LP provides weekly individual therapy sessions with all clients as well as monthly family therapy sessions with all clients and their families.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provides weekly individual therapy sessions for all clients.
- May provide monthly family therapy sessions for all clients and their families.
- Sit in on weekly team meetings with all Day Treatment staff to review client cases.
- Documents each client's progress and the effectiveness of the strategies and interventions outlined in the PCP. This includes a written progress note for each individual and family therapy session with client.
- Conducts updated/yearly Comprehensive Clinical Assessments for current clients if needed.
- Completes annual PCPs for all clients.
- Completes incoming client CCAs/PCPs/initial documentation, on occasion/as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
-must meet the requirements for licensed or provisionally licensed professional according to staff definitions 10A NCAC 27G .0104.
-must be a minimum of .5 (FTE) dedicated professional for every 18 enrolled recipients and be actively involved in service delivery.
-must be fully licensed within 30 months from the date of hire.
-must have the skill, knowledge, and ability with child/adolescent mental health.
-If the Day Treatment Program is a substance use program, the LP must be an LCAS.
-must complete the training requirements indicated by the service definition.
