Description:
The Sr. Technical Builder (Level III Technical Builder) is responsible for assisting ImagiCorps’ overall production needs by producing top quality exhibits and fixtures as specified and instructed by the Manufacturing Manager and/or Shop Supervisor.
The Level III brings 5-10 years of experience as a cabinet maker or finish carpenter. Capabilities include creating 1:1 layout for production based on a schematic drawing, capable to specify and request material and hardware, and capable to make jigs for mass production (production line jigs).
The Level III is also a leader that can manage the time available for the entire project, can install without supervision, and coach production assistants, Level I-II’s, and request their assistance as needed to ensure project efficiency.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Mission:
Fostering Teamwork:
- Be willing to mentor production assistants/Level I & II technical builders.
- Be an active member of the team in promoting safety. Maintain a clean and safe working environment and always use appropriate PPE.
Manage Performance:
- Build goods, products and displays according to instructions and plans (when available) with the most efficient use of time and material cost.
- Assist Project Managers by performing the necessary tasks to complete work orders in a timely, accurate and complete manner. This may include specifying and requesting new material and hardware and assisting with installations.
- Communicate with Project Managers when a project goes off-plan or off-budget.
- Accurately transact daily inventory documentation (i.e. inventory adjustment sheet, bill of materials).
- Accurately record daily activities on a timecard.
Manage Performance:
- Builds goods, products, and displays according to instructions and plans in the most time effective and material cost effective manner possible.
- Capable of recognizing the appropriate level of quality for “high-end, long-life” products as well as for “one-time use” products.
- Communicate proactively with management and/or team members to increase clarity of the project expectations and seek to resolve challenges that arise with a “can do” attitude.
- Ensure that parts and products meet quality standards by following established guidelines to measure, test, and inspect the product assembled.
- Transact daily activity on a timecard in accordance with ImagiCorps timekeeping procedures.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Technical Expertise:
- Create 1:1 layout for production based on a schematic drawing.
- Make jigs for mass production (production line jigs).
- Residential and commercial case work installation.
- Strives to continue to develop and maintain a depth and breadth of knowledge of our multiple industries, functions, and processes.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school education and basic math skills required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a cabinet maker or finish carpenter.
- On site customer facing installation experience preferred
- Experience in one, or more of the following preferred; finish carpentry, cabinetry, furniture making, exhibits, display, or events.
- Experience with any of the following is a plus, finishing, acrylic, fiberglass, solid surface, sound, lighting, low voltage wiring and electronics.
KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of blueprint reading.
- Knowledge in LED wiring and AV wiring highly preferred.
SKILLS
- Safely operate hand tools and power tools, including a table saw.
- Safely operate a pallet jack and/or hand truck.
- Impeccable organization, prioritization, and time management.
- Good written/oral communication; active listening skills; can work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrates flexibility in constructive problem solving, navigating change, and overcoming challenges.
- Demonstrated accurate record keeping skills.
ABILITIES
- A true team player and leader in successfully driving collaboration amongst a project team.
- Exercise good judgement in maintaining a safe work environment and be an active member of the team in promoting safety.

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Move about a manufacturing environment in both seasonally cold/hot environments.
- Standing for long periods of time, and performance of repetitive tasks.
- Motor coordinator skills.
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds.
TRAVEL REQUIRED:
- Willingness for occasional travel to install high end projects.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
