Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced English SAT Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in English literature, grammar, and composition, as well as a thorough understanding of the SAT exam format and requirements. The prospective dates for classes are tentatively set to begin in July - December.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging and interactive lessons that cover all aspects of the English section of the SAT exam, including reading comprehension, grammar, and essay writing.
- Create customized lesson plans and instructional materials tailored to the needs of individual students or small groups.
- Assess students' strengths and weaknesses and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their English SAT scores.
- Keep abreast of changes to the SAT exam format and content and adjust teaching methods and materials accordingly.
- Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with parents or guardians to provide updates on student performance and address any concerns.
- Foster a supportive and motivating learning environment that encourages students to reach their full potential.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in English, education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching English, preferably in a test preparation setting.
- Must have a 750 or higher on the subject interested in teaching
- Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal
- Familiarity with the structure and content of the SAT exam, including the ability to analyze and interpret reading passages and writing prompts.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students of varying skill levels and learning styles.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to create and implement effective lesson plans and instructional strategies.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively present information to students
- Ability to develop an engaging curriculum that meets educational standards
- Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities, including special education students
