Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable Shop Assistant/Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for receiving, picking up, delivering, and staging of parts and equipment, as necessary for Service Technicians, Installers, and other departments as well as keeping the shop and parts room stocked, organized, and clean.
Responsibilities:
- With guidance, order parts and equipment from a variety of vendors.
- Pick up parts from vendors and deliver the parts in a timely manner to Service Technicians, Installers, and other departments at job sites.
- With guidance, maintain a good working stock of supplies in the parts room without developing excess inventory.
- Stage materials/equipment for next-day jobs the day before for install team(s).
- Assist Service Technicians, Installers, and other department staff as necessary at the job sites or at the shop.
- Communicate to the applicable parties the need for special parts, equipment, tools, and supplies.
- Input data into the computer system regarding all parts inventory, which includes all company vans, the parts room, and all parts locations.
- Complete all related paperwork in a timely manner.
- Keep the shop and grounds clean and organized daily.
- Process returns to shop stock and vendors for credit.
- Minor vehicle maintenance.
- Jobsite clean outs.
- Perform other miscellaneous tasks and assignments as necessary.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Geographic familiarity with the Portland Metro area.

- Current, valid driver's license with acceptable driving record, allowing insurability on the company's automobile insurance policy.
- Sheet metal fabrication experience a plus!
Physical and Mental Demands
- Lifts, pushes, and pulls up to 50 pounds on a daily basis.
- Move equipment weighing several hundred pounds, with mechanical and human assistance.
- Works with substances commonly encountered in the HVAC profession.
- Climb stairs and ladders on a regular basis.
- Work both indoors and outdoors, in temperature extremes, on a daily basis.
- Works in awkward and sometimes confined spaces, including crawl spaces and heights, requiring flexibility and full range of motion in limbs, head, neck, and torso.
- Maintains high safety standards at all times.
- Must be open to change in systems, people, priorities, and schedules.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
