Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources/Payroll Manager to join our team. As the Human Resources/Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for the preparation of weekly payrolls by established deadlines and will ensure that employees are paid correctly and in accordance with state and federal regulations. The successful candidate will also be responsible for HR-related functions and will work closely with the Senior Director of HR to ensure that our company attracts, develops, and retains top talent. The candidate must have advanced knowledge of labor and employment laws and will report directly to the General Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the recruitment process, including job postings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and participate in hiring decisions
- Oversee employee onboarding and orientation programs to ensure a smooth transition for new hires
- Manage employees’ benefits changes, including medical, dental, vision, 401k plan, paid time off and other benefits- Ensure that union employees’ benefits deductions are logged correctly
- Preparation of weekly payrolls by established deadlines
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance in accordance with data privacy laws
- Monitor annual performance review and follow up with managers and employees
- Prepare offer letters for potential employees
-Facilitate the background check process for potential employees
-Ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws and regulations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required in Human Resources Management or a related field
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as an HR Generalist or HR Manager
- Minimum of two years of experience managing payroll functions
- SHRM Certification a plus
Specifications:
- Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws
- Proficient in HRIS systems such as Paychex or ADP
- Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Powerpoint)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and account reconciliation
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Netsuite experience (strongly preferred)
