The rapidly growing Recycling organization in Hydro Aluminum Metals USA is seeking a dynamic Process Engineer, Scrap Sorting and Sourcing. This pivotal role will act as an owner’s representative, forging novel partnerships such as joint ventures and delivering operational follow up to existing and new partnership. Acting as the anchor between our German sorting operations and the global developing scrap sorting and sourcing realm, this individual will spearhead strategic collaborations while ensuring seamless coordination across diverse stakeholders.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field is required.
- Excellent analytical skills required; knowledge of business analysis and modeling tools is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in the recycling industry, ideally with scrap sourcing and sorting, is required.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders within different companies, business units and departments is a must.

A master’s degree in engineering or a business-related field is preferred, but not required.
- Work experience at a scrap sorting venture is preferred.
- Strong project management skills and project management certification, such as PMP, is preferred.

Develop proficiency in the sorting process, particularly focusing on LIBS sorting technology, and grasp the capabilities and constraints of Hydro’s innovative Hysort equipment.

Gather, assess, and model data from sorting equipment, evaluating machine capabilities across various scrap types.

Identify avenues to minimize process variation, enhance process capabilities, and optimize performance based on scrap input.

Establish, draft, and deliver training on designated procedures and work instructions, aligning with established Hydro AMBS standards and prerequisites.

Ensure operational efficiencies and constant follow-up to established and new processes.
- Maintain regular communication with the technical team in Germany regarding process capabilities, optimization, and improvements.
- Act as the focal point in operational meetings relating to sorting operations in U.S.
