About Your Role:
Dotdash Meredith is looking for a Senior Director of Research & Insights to lead our research strategy for our Health vertical (Core endemic portfolio: Verywell Health, Verywell Mind, Verywell Fit, and Health ). Dotdash Meredith is a top resource in health on the internet, reaching nearly 200 million unique users a month. Our high-quality content is aimed at helping people make decisions, find inspiration, and take action. And our first-party data is at the heart of informing everything we do-and not just on our health sites, but across powerful brands in home, food & beverage, tech, travel, family, beauty, and entertainment (including powerhouses like People, Better Homes and Gardens, Travel and Leisure, and AllRecipes).
This robust first-party data is especially important when it comes to the patient journey-at Dotdash Meredith we don’t just see patients from an endemic health perspective; we see and seek to help them as whole humans, understanding how their health journeys connect to and impact their everyday lives and supporting them in those arenas.
As the Senior Director leading this group, it will be your responsibility to build deep partnerships with Dotdash Meredith’s cross-departmental leaders including the Health Chief Revenue Officer, SVP of Marketing, group General Manager, and Chief Medical Officer. You will build, support, and enhance strategic research plans across the organization through the use of Dotdash Meredith’s unique first-party data, custom primary research, and syndicated/external data sources.
About Your Contributions:
About You:
7+ years of research and analytics experience, with experience in the media industry
Deep expertise in the pharma industry, with an understanding of buy-side and sell-side dynamics, as well as how future roadmaps for pharma companies impacts their future needs
Understand the digital advertising landscape, products, and trends that are important to industry media buyers
Strong interest in engaging with and understanding key audiences, topics, trends, and events to tie market and world events to audience insights and present a point of view that is appropriate for and in context with the these industries
Expertise in working with large data sets to synthesize information and draw out key insights
Expertise in using multiple sources of data and information (whether syndicated, quantitative, qualitative, secondary, etc.) to guide business decisions
Experience managing and mentoring analyst teams of five or more
A true self-starter who provides proactive ideas, understands organizational goals, and moves initiatives forward - with a proven track record of leading projects from start to finish and delivering business value
An excellent communicator with outstanding research storytelling skills which allow you to draw out key insights, and can tailor compelling and engaging messages for different audiences
A strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Comfortable with ambiguity and an ability to prioritize on-the-fly based on shifting business needs
A strong desire to understand the humans on the other end of the data-moving beyond reporting to building and sharing an understanding of relevant moments of need
Solid grasp of statistics, digital engagement metrics, and research methodologies
Expertise with syndicated resources like MRI, Comscore, YouGov, IQVIA, as well as data visualization, business intelligence, and/or cross-tabulation tools such as Looker, Tableau, eTelmar, and NewAge
College degree required
Hybrid 3x a week - NYC
In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.

Pay Range
Salary: $150,000 - $175,000
The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith’s total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
