Prestigious trial firm looking for a Bookkeeper to become a part of our rapidly growing and innovative law firm. The successful candidate will play a valued and key role in maintaining the accuracy of our financial records and have direct experience in performing the following tasks.
Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable
- Recording vendor bills
- Attaching proper approvals and support according to the firm’s policies.
- Issuing checks, wires, and credit card payments.
- Preparing client disbursements from settlement funds received.
- Weekly check run for the firm’s operating costs.
- Accounts Receivable
- Ensuring that all billable costs are recorded to receivables.
- Prepare invoices for hourly billing.
- Reconciling client distributions to billable costs on cases.
- Credit Card Reconciliations
- Ensure that all credit card transactions are recorded along with supporting receipts for each accounting period.
- Reconcile statements to balance sheet.
- Bank Reconciliations
- Bank activity is reconciled daily to ensure transactions are recorded in a timely manner.
- Other adhoc administrative duties
- Prepare aging reports, billing reports, expense analysis and other ad hoc reporting as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- Comparable experience of 3-5 years in similar positions
- Technical Skills; QuickBooks or similar accounting software and Microsoft Office including Intermediate Microsoft Excel
- Deadline and detail oriented
- Highly organized
- Basic mathematical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
