As a bartender for Sunday Social, you hold a very important role. Bartenders mix and
serve alcoholic beverages based on customer requests. Your duties include verifying the
identification and age of customers, preparing and serving alcoholic beverages, receiving and
properly ringing food orders, accepting payment from customers, cleaning glasses and bar
utensils and balancing cash receipts to record sales.
Bartenders must have extensive knowledge of common drinks which they use to recommend
drinks to customers, prepare cocktails, pour beers and wines. Bartenders will also entertain
customers who sit at the bar by providing stimulating conversation and excellent customer
service while filling drink orders for other customers. Your role is to ensure that customers are of
legal drinking age and then prepare a requested drink to their specifications.
Responsible for:
-Verify identification and age requirements of customers
-Mix traditional and creative cocktails
-Process payment from customers
-Clean glasses and bar utensils; clean wells
-Clean and maintain all bar equipment
-Make suggestions based on customer tastes and preferences
-Record and balance cash receipts and prepare cash deposits
-Open and maintain tabs throughout their shift
-Build a rapport with regular customers to create a positive atmosphere
-Communicate low or missing product to Bar Manager/GM and any prep items to Production
Coordinator; Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
-Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar patrons
-Interact with customers, take orders and serve food and drinks
-Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
-Properly mix ingredients to prepare cocktails without waste
-Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
-Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
-Comply with all food and beverage regulations
Skills & Qualifications:
-Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
-Knowledge of mixology for traditional and creative cocktails
-Understanding of unique and complementary flavor pairings
-Knowledge of bar spirits and proper bartending techniques
-Understanding of menu (food and beverage) and ability to describe each to customers
-Ability to properly utilize a POS system
-Impeccable customer service and social perceptiveness
-Ability to evaluate customer satisfaction and responsiveness
-Ability to enforce company policies regarding the consumption of alcohol
-Accountability in maintaining inventory and processing payments
-Physical ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
-Communicating effectively with bar backs, prep coordinator, bar manager, and General
Manager to ensure needs of the guests are met
-TABC and Food Handlers certification required
