THE POSITION
Staccato is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support the sourcing and acquiring of materials, components, and services required to produce 2011 pistols. You will be an integral part of our mission to build the Best Shooting Handgun in the world. You will have strong organizational skills that allow you to stay on top of multiple projects at the same time. Your role is critical in supporting the manufacturing process while optimizing costs and ensuring timely delivery of materials.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Help identify, evaluate, and select suppliers that meet quality and compliance standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, focusing on long-term partnerships.
- Participate in weekly sales and operations planning meetings.
- Develop and execute procurement strategies that align with production schedules and quality requirements.
- Coordinate with manufacturing teams to understand material needs and delivery timelines.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with applicable laws, such as ATF regulations. Maintain accurate records and documentation to support audits and inspections.
- Responsible for submitting Purchase Orders to acquire parts, materials, and supplies.
- Verify inventory levels and locations in Epicor are accurate.
- Responsible for reconciling any invoice discrepancies.
- Work closely with quality control teams to ensure materials and components meet industry and company standards. Address any quality issues promptly and collaborate with suppliers to implement corrective actions.
- Monitor procurement costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Work closely with engineering, production, and logistics to ensure a smooth procurement process.
- Create weekly open order reports for all suppliers and drive accountability around on-time deliveries.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills
- Min 2yrs. experience in procurement, preferably in gun manufacturing or a related industry
- Strong understanding of firearms industry regulations and compliance requirements
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with all levels of coworkers.
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical ability.
- Ability to work in a highly regulated environment with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Experience with the purchasing/supply chain module within Epicor (ERP).
EDUCATION
- A.S. or higher in Business Admin, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Economics, or Finance preferred.
- Certification in procurement or supply chain management is a plus.
