This Resident Engineering position will be based San Jose, CA as well as remote at times with the current COVID-19 pandemic and will be primarily responsible for serving our client and their facility. The Resident Engineer will work with both the Spirent Professional Services and Sales team to support both the post-sales implementation and deployment of Spirent solutions. All candidates must have a proven networking background and demonstrated capability to rapidly learn and assimilate new networking technologies as our customers require. This engineer must be self-driven, customer oriented, comfortable with multi-tasking, able to effectively set and meet customer expectations, complete tasks with little or no supervision, and perform quality work under the pressure of tight customer timelines.

Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in degree in Telecommunications and Network Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Must have 5 years of experience in job offered or related position. Must have 5 years of experience with the following: Technical Experience in the Telecommunications / Data communications Industry; analyzing and debugging test setups especially under stressful situations; Network experience with IP and Ethernet; experience with L1-L7 network troubleshooting; experience with L2-L3 network troubleshooting and testing; experience with 10G to 400G Ethernet technologies and physical layer troubleshooting; experience with Cisco lab infrastructure and processes; and experience with test plans and test cases in the Cisco Manufacturing Environment. Must have 1 year of experience with the following: Experience with Cisco Manufacturing SNT TC libraries and the automation framework; experience with Wi-Fi 6 testing and troubleshooting with Spirent Test Center; and experience with provisioning and installing Cyberflood/vSTC tools on ESXI/KVM hypervisors. Telecommuting work arrangement permitted: position may work in various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.
Alternatively, the company will accept a Master's degree in Telecommunications and Network Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or related position. Must have 3 years of experience with the following: Technical Experience in the Telecommunications / Data communications Industry; analyzing and debugging test setups especially under stressful situations; Network experience with IP and Ethernet; experience with L1-L7 network troubleshooting; Experience with L2-L3 network troubleshooting and testing; experience with 10G to 400G Ethernet technologies and physical layer troubleshooting; Experience with Cisco lab infrastructure and processes; and experience with test plans and test cases in the Cisco Manufacturing Environment. Annualized Salary Wage Range: $123,566 – $146,402
Spirent applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience at or in line with the minimum requirements.
