Kidney Specialists of Southern Nevada (KSOSN) provides comprehensive kidney care and a full spectrum of kidney disease management resources for residents of Southern Nevada. Our care team educates and empowers patients who are living with kidney pain, infections, stones, and other kidney problems. With this exciting opportunity you will be joining a seasoned team of 50 Physicians and Advanced Practitioners, as well as 70+ team members across seven office locations. We are recruiting for both Medical Assistant I (entry level) and Medical Assistant II (more experienced) to join our growing team as we bring on additional physicians!! Starting pay for entry level Medical Assistant I is $18 an hour.
This position will work a 9/4 schedule. Work schedule will be Monday to Thursday, 7:30 am to 5pm OR 8am to 5:30pm and Friday 8am to 12 noon.

Essential Job Functions:
- Perform routine clinical tasks to support assigned provider(s)
- Answer phones, respond to voicemails and use the EHR to enter messages into the patient’s chart.
- Room patients including but not limited to: obtaining vital signs such as height, weight, and blood pressure, reviewing/updating patient’s medication list, and obtaining a urine specimen for urinalysis.
- Prepare electronic health records for the physician, including making sure all necessary records are accounted for before the visit (labs/radiology/testing)
- Process prescription refills and obtain prior authorization for medications
- Maintain supplies, equipment, and stock exam rooms; practice HIPAA & OSHA compliance and safety standards
- Perform accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times
- Perform miscellaneous job duties as requested.
- Travel to other KSOSN clinics as required
Qualifications:
- Must receive the influenza vaccine annually.
- Medical Assistant certificate or diploma required.
- Minimum two (2) years of medical assistant experience is required for an MAII.
- Prior experience using Electronic Medical Records required.
- Knowledge and appropriate use of medical terminology required.
- Must have excellent communication and computer skills.
- Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be task oriented, self-motivated, and able to work remotely if needed without supervision
- Experience using Epic highly preferred.
- Experience with Telemedicine preferred.
- Prior experience working in an urgent care or specialty setting preferred.
