Plymouth Road Animal Clinic, located in Grand Rapids Michigan and specializing in general medicine and surgery for canine and feline patients, is seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team. General Responsibilities
-Assist veterinarians with appointments, surgery, dental procedures
-Calculate and/or administer medications/anesthesia under the supervision of the veterinarian
-Monitor surgical and dental patients while under anesthesia
-Perform routine procedures such as certain vaccinations, nail trims, bandage changes, anal gland expression, etc
-Carry out diagnostic testing under the direction of the veterinarian
-Cleaning of work environment as well as surgical instrumentation
-Providing client communication and resources
Qualifications
-Must possess a valid Veterinary Technician License in good standing in the state of Michigan, or have documented experience as a veterinary assistant
-Must be able to lift and carry animals and equipment up to 50 pounds
-Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods of time
-Will consider all applicants but ideal candidate would have 2+ years of experience
-Must be able to work in a team environment
