Job Summary:
The HR Representative is responsible for providing comprehensive HR services to support the operational HR services and strategic goals of NKTHD. This role involves a variety of HR activities including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, and support the HR Manager. The HR Representative ensures that HR policies and procedures are implemented effectively and consistently.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- May assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations and counseling.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Conducts background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Ensure exit interviews are conducted for all staff either face to face or electronically.
- Manage Leave of Absence process to ensure tracking and adherence to the Interactive Process and other state or federal laws.
- Facilitate meetings for employees and supervisors when seeking HR guidance when facing issues in the department. Conduct investigations and report to HR Manager when there is a need to escalate.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters diplomatically and discreetly.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- Highs School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years’ experience in Human Resources, or related field, preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
Salary:
$21 – $25.00 per hour
