Position overview:
The Front Office Medical Assistant will be responsible for managing the front office operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. This role involves administrative duties, patient interaction, and coordination with medical staff to provide excellent patient care and service.
Responsibilities:
· Greet patients and provide a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
· Assist patients with check-in/check-out process; collect co-pays and insurance information
· Answer phone calls and directs callers to appropriate personnel.
· Schedule appointments and meetings
· Collect and process payments.
· Maintain and update patient records in the electronic health records (HER) system in accordance with HIPPA regulations.
· Conduct pre-authorization of patient services and procedures via insurance.
· Assist the physician in back office as needed
· Ensure the front desk is neat, presentable and equipped with all necessary supplies.
· As assigned, provide administrative duties support to ensure efficient office operations.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Proven experience in a medical office setting, preferably in an administrative role
· Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and medical billing software. Experience working with E-clinical works and Availity a plus!
· Credentialing experience, medical billing and coding knowledge
· Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes a plus
· Strong time-management, organizational, multi-tasking skills
· Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
· Proficient in MS office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
· Certification in medical office administration desirable but not required.
