Job Summary:
As a Family Therapist at KLEO, you will play a crucial role in providing therapy and support, working as part of a collaborative team. Your responsibilities will include supervising and providing administrative support, as well as managing shift supervisors, residential aides, and case managers at KLEO’S Shelter.
We are in search of a licensed therapist who is passionate about providing long-term relationship solutions to couples and families. The ideal candidate will hold current licensure as an LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist) or LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor) and have a proven track record of 1-3 years in therapeutic services for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Key Responsibilities:
● Maintain regular contact with patients, families, and other key individuals involved in the patient’s treatment.
● Develop evidence-based treatment plans with the patient, family, and other qualified care providers.
● Attend regular meetings with the patient, family, and qualified care providers to ensure quality care.
● Assist in evaluating patients, providing advice and counseling, and making referrals when necessary.
● Complete and maintain thorough and accurate notes, reports, and records.
● Obtain informed consent from patients for examinations.
● Understand and apply relevant diagnostic and treatment techniques.
● Assist as needed with special events as directed by the supervisor.
● Assist with fundraising activities periodically.
● All other duties as assigned by the Director of Programming and Founder.
● Evaluate client treatment plans, conduct therapeutic interventions, and provide education on mental health issues.
● Conduct individual and group therapy sessions.
Other: Must comply with agency requirements of strict client confidentiality, professional ethics, and agency policies and procedures. Must participate in the following but not limited to monthly staff meetings; training (travel to shelter is necessary); fundraising events; community fairs; client events; outreach efforts; and other events as directed by your supervisor.
Minimum Requirements:
● Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, or related field.
● Valid LMFT or LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor) licensure.
● 2+ years’ proven experience as a Qualified Mental Health professional.
● Ability to work with children, adolescents, adults, and families in the New Arrival’s migrant community.
● Knowledge of evidence-based treatment techniques and psychological assessment.
● Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
● Comfortable with learning new software programs.
● Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with solid organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
● Comfortable lifting and moving office supplies and equipment weighing about 20 pounds.
● Able to sit or stand for extended periods while performing administrative tasks.
Conditions Of Employment:
· Valid Illinois State driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation.
· Clean Background Check
· Ability to complete CPR Training within 60 days of hire.
· Participate in agency-required staff meetings and training.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bilingual proficiency
· Experience working in a non-profit or community-based organization serving victims of violence or trauma.
