This class performs routine incidental keyboarding and duties involving monitoring, processing inmate related paperwork, and controlling facility access of designated areas.
This is a "mandatory testing" position that requires Drug Testing.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Provides information by phone or in person to the public regarding a variety of issues, which may include: charges, court dates, visiting hours, and/or other related items
Controls access into and out of designated areas; monitors surveillance monitors and notifies appropriate individuals of suspicious activities
Checks identification of persons entering/exiting controlled areas; monitors safety of staff, visitors, and inmates; generates work orders for inoperable equipment
Electronically logs pertinent information into the Jail Management Suite, video visitation software, completes detailed incident reports, and routinely uses the radio for communication purposes
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level

Note: During emergency conditions, the incumbent of this position will automatically be considered emergency service workers. Physical Requirements:
Positions in this class typically require: Balancing, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Incumbents may be subjected to moving odors, blood and other bodily fluids, and intense noises
