Assistant General Manager: About the Role
The Assistant General Manager supports the organization of all restaurant and cafe operations by following standardized policies to provide efficient, friendly services and profitable operations.
Assistant General Manager Responsibilities:

Consistently maintains a positive, courteous disposition and a neat, clean, professional image.

Works with the General Manager in setting the direction of the business in day-to-day operations as well as developing and executing a plan to drive sales, manage costs, and grow the business within the values and ethos of the company

Runs point in nightly dining room pre-service.

Active in nightly service, ensuring the guest experience is smooth and up to standard

Oversight and management of dining room team, including posting for jobs, hiring, and onboarding

Manage and distribute FOH schedule

Runs weekly payroll
-
Handles all HR FOH staff responsibilities in partnership with the HR team (including training and development, employee relations, documentation, terminations, etc.)

Point person for all purchasing (small wares, disposables, CGS, etc.)

Balances administrative responsibilities while also satisfying the role as a leader on the service team.

Enhances and strengthens guest relationships, established and new, maintains and builds rapport with guests.

Promotes cooperative effort, a team spirit, good morale, and positive culture among employees

Resolves complaints from guests in a polite, friendly manner, always making sure we follow up with them when needed
-
Presentation of the space and staff is maintained consistently and always exceeds standards.

Participates in training about standardized policies (HR, fire, hygiene, health, safety, employee handbook, etc.)

Help build and develop each member of the team to further their professional development, act as a mentor and approachable leader for all staff.

Has a strong understanding of company background, core values, and philosophy

Adheres to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures

Performs other work-related duties as assigned
Assistant General Manager Requirements:
-
Minimum 3 years working in a high-volume restaurant environment
-
Previous management experience is required.

Experience with operations management, team management, and team development
-
Proficient in a variety of technology systems, especially Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and Google Workspace
-
Experience with HRIS, payroll, and scheduling systems
-
Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and variable schedule per the needs of the business

Ability to stand for up to 8-10 hours a day
