The Sales Associate is responsible to deliver exceptional hospitality while hosting wine tasting experiences and winery tours. As a member of the sales and hospitality team there is an expectation to deliver results in wine sales, club acquisition and guest satisfaction through storytelling and executing a personalized and memorable onsite experience. Event support is ongoing and on an as needed basis for seasonal event activity throughout the year.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Wine Sales & Service (60%)
● Host guests in the Tasting Room for tastings and/or tours.
● Effectively sell wine, wine club memberships and retail merchandise.
● Influence brand messaging and wine sales through storytelling and suggestive selling.
● Make recommendations on wine selections based on customer preferences.
● Meet or exceed set sales and club conversion goals.
● Follow established guidelines for executing a consistent wine presentation.
● Perform opening and closing duties as assigned.
● Accurately enter customer and order information into CRM/POS system.
● Pick, pack and prepare wine orders for guest purchases.
● Set up and break down all tasting & tour experiences.
● Wash and polish glassware.
● Assist DTC with additional administrative duties as assigned.
Hospitality (40%)
● Provide an exceptional guest experience at every opportunity.
● Share passion and knowledge about wine, food, and hospitality with guests.
● Strong relationship, rapport-building, and interpersonal skills.
● Maintain a positive work environment, ensuring strong internal hospitality.
● Support all events hosted on property.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
Qualifications:
● 1+ years related experience preferred in sales, customer service and/or hospitality.
● Previous wine industry experience preferred.
● Working knowledge of wines and winemaking processes - WSET or CWE Certification a plus.
● Ability to perform high-quality wine service.
● Strong selling skills a must.
● Engaging personality, professional demeanor and positive attitude.
● Ability to work independently and cohesively with team members and ownership.
● Highly organized with attention to detail and consistent follow through.
● Flexible and adaptable to a changing work environment.
● Ability to manage competing priorities with sound judgment and solution-based results.
● Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
● Ability to perform basic math.
● Must be flexible and available to work varied hours/days of the week.
● Weekend work is required + evenings on occasion.
● Demonstrate computer proficiency with POS/CRM, reservation platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
● High school diploma or GED; two to four year college degree preferred.
● Must be at least 21 years of age.
● English language fluency required.
Physical Requirements:
● Ability to lift and move 50 pounds repeatedly.
● Ability to stand, move, walk, and sit for prolonged periods of time, and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch and climb.
● Ability to effectively stock wine, set-up and break down procedures, equipment, etc., and be able to utilize hand truck and assist in moving heavy objects.
● Ability to understand and accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
● Communicate effectively with guests and team members.
