Troon is looking to fill the key leadership role of General Manager at Flagstaff Ranch Golf Club, a member-owned private club located at an elevation of 7,238 feet among the Ponderosa Pines of Northern Arizona. Founded in 2003, the Club features a Jerry Pate-designed golf course that takes full advantage of the beauty of its mountain setting with dramatic elevation changes and views for hundreds of miles. The 7,127-yard, par-72 course is considered one of the state’s top layouts, ranked No. 16 in Arizona on Golfweek’s recently released “Best Private Clubs” state-by-state ranking.
The Club’s 25,000 sq. ft. clubhouse includes member/guest dining, a member’s lounge, a private boardroom, banquet/meeting Rooms, member’s locker rooms and more. Flagstaff Ranch homeowners enjoy additional amenities including a Community Center with a well-equipped fitness center, offering member fitness classes, outdoor grills, tennis and pickleball courts, a basketball courts and playgrounds for the kids. Ideal candidates are to have a genuine passion for property management and leadership. As General Manager, you will be responsible for directing and overseeing all aspects of the club and facility, including its activities and relationships between members, board, committees, associates, and community. Maintaining a strong and collaborative relationship with the POA/HOA is imperative, and experience in like settings is ideal. This position has the ultimate responsibility for maximum member satisfaction, sound financial performance and board-collaborative capital planning. Ideal candidates have flexible schedules with availability to work weekends and holidays, as needed. Previous supervisory experience is a requirement for the position.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and monitors annual budget, revenue goals and expenses as well as generating various weekly, monthly, etc.) business volume forecasts
- Monitors monthly and other financial reports/statements on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis for the facility and takes effective corrective action when necessary
- Establishes basic personnel policy, initiates, and establishes basic personnel policy, initiates and monitors policies relating to personnel actions and training along with professional development programs
- Ensures all Human Resources procedures and policies are followed by management staff
- Develops, maintains, and administers a sound organizational plan and initiates improvements as necessary
- Oversees the care and maintenance of all the facility’s physical assets and each individual facility
- Coordinates marketing and membership programs to promote the facility’s services to potential customers
- Ensures the highest standards for food and beverage service on property
- Implements policies and procedures for multiple departments, including compliance of all company standards relating to quality of products and services
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Directly manages department members that may include, but is not limited to: Head Professional, Golf Course Superintendent(s), Clubhouse Manager, Membership Director, Facilities Manager, etc.
- Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate
- Develops ongoing training programs
- Maintains member compliance to club rules and bylaws as constituted.
- Works closely with Board in achieving established annual and long-range goals of the club
- Collaborates and engages in the governance of the club through attending committee meetings, board meetings – giving thoughtful and informative feedback and recommendations.
- Collaborates closely and cooperatively with HOA/POA GM and Board of Directors, so to foster and maintain a strong working relationship
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance, as presence and visibility to members and associates is valued
- Maintains membership with the PGA, CMAA or other professional associations
- Attends workshops and meetings to keep abreast of current information and developments
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (BA); or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- CMAA member, GCSSA or PGA/LPGA membership is encouraged
- Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the equipment manuals associates may use are in English)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Compensation
- Salary and Wage Range: $180K-$195K DOE
- Bonus: Up to 15% of annual salary
