Position Summary:
The HR Compliance Specialist reports to the Sr. Manager, HR Compliance and plays an integral role in the HR Compliance functional group. This position conducts internal investigations and ensures effective, thorough, and objective processes. In partnership with the leadership team, this position will assist the organization with federal and state law compliance to support the development of compliance programs, policies, reporting and practices for the organization.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Conduct thorough and timely investigations for complex, sensitive and multi-faceted workplace investigations, including defining, strategizing, and creating the investigation plan.
- Provide investigation findings to HR Leadership. Prepare impartial written reports and summary of findings with supporting documentation detailing facts and investigatory analysis.
- Oversee, review, and assist with internal investigations and investigative plans conducted by internal partners for consistency in execution and analysis.
- Analyze, monitor and track active and historical investigations and employment patterns and trends to identify potential disparity or systemic issues and propose related agency wide remedies.
- Conduct 30-, 60-, or 90-day follow-up plans to ensure improvement and sustainability within the work environment
- Develop and deliver investigative training for HR, people leaders, and employees.
- Audit HR practices in conjunction with HR colleagues to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Responsible for keeping our DOJ processes currents and will serve as a Custodian of Records (COR) with the DOJ.
- Respond to public records requests on behalf of HR and assist in the redaction of protected information.
- Assist with both internal and external audits.
- Supervise HR document destruction, ensuring compliance with records retention requirements.
- Support and counsel employees in addressing workplace issues, advocating for employees when appropriate, and act as a liaison between employees and supervisors.
- Provide guidance and make recommendations for successful resolution of personnel and performance issues, in accordance with SY Health’s policy and applicable laws.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide as backup to other HR positions, as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Education Required (Minimum level of education):
- Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in human resources, public administration, or a closely related field.
- Or, an equivalent combination of education and/or training and/or experience.
Certifications/Licenses Preferred:
- PHR/SPHR/SPHR-CA
- Association of Workplace Investigators Certificate
Experience Required (Minimum level of experience):
- Three years of on-the-job experience in employee relations, investigations, or performance management.
Verbal and Written Skills Required to perform the Job:
- Must have excellent English speaking and writing skills. Must be proficient in making group presentations.
Technical Knowledge and Skills Required to Perform the Job:
- Must be knowledgeable of State and Federal employment law.
Equipment Used:
- Microsoft Office suite including, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio.
- HR Information system and applicant tracking system.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Your initial work assignment will be Hybrid (Remote and Onsite). Your work location may vary to include travel to work at other sites based on business need.

Pay: $37.05 - $50.35 per hour
