Job Description Summary:
The Colorado 811 (CO811) Damage Prevention Instructor & Field Liaison - Bilingual (Spanish/English Language) delivers presentations, courses, and education in an in-person and digital learning format in both English and Spanish language to all Colorado stakeholder groups as assigned. Stakeholder interactions are focused on expanding CO811 self-service ticketing system usage and mission, as well as a strong focus on stakeholder engagement, damage prevention program delivery, stakeholder interactions. Supports various learning styles, stakeholder group educational goals, and program strategies for the delivery of standardized and approved CO811 educational and damage prevention program content in bilingual environments, using standardized slides, hand-outs, lecture videos, and other materials. Provides audiences with feedback loops and assessment methods before and after program activity, adjusts course outlines and materials as instructed and necessary to be compliant with all local, state, federal laws, and industry best practices. This individual stays on trend with innovative digital and in-person program delivery, laws, industry best practices, and educational best practices through research and managerial direction, and makes recommendations to management to improve programs and delivery channel effectiveness.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver high-quality CO811 educational and damage prevention programs and standardized content in both English and Spanish language as directed.
- Provide subject matter expertise on CO811 ticketing system and One-Call Legislation to stakeholders as directed.
- Develop and deliver standardized, instructor led and on-demand curriculum in both English and Spanish language, prepare teaching materials, course outlines in both English and Spanish language and reports as directed.
- Use computer software, leads data, materials, and hardware to develop, integrate, and edit instructional text, audio, video, graphics, and more to deliver effective and interactive presentations and education in both English and Spanish language.
- Implement quality controls and review, and revise procedures throughout the courseware development process as directed.
- Provide consultation services about CO811 programs in both English and Spanish language as directed by management.
- Lead independent or group projects, conference workshops, sessions, presentations, conference exhibits, and more in both English and Spanish language.
- Provide support for management by promoting the growth & awareness of Colorado 811 to users, members, and all other stakeholders in assigned region and throughout Colorado.
- Identify and initiate contact with stakeholders that are not currently members or participants in CO811 programs or ticketing use or are not aware of CO811 services, to increase CO811 ticket entry usage, program participation and awareness of CO811 services. Explain the benefits of CO811 and compliance requirements under One-Call Legislation as applicable.
- Assist in the promotion of excavation safety and damage prevention activities by providing support in both English and Spanish language during educational meetings, conferences, trade shows, onsite workshops and to HOAs, schools, colleges, universities, and any other relative venues, events and entities to inform and educate the general public and other stakeholders.
- Prepare and submit timely and completed reports, expenses, mileage, and all other organizational required reports as directed.
- Provide program participants with course materials, exams, quizzes, and feedback loops in both English and Spanish language for each engagement.
- Maintain lesson plans which meet program requirements and standards as directed.
- Provide translation in both verbal and written format as needed.
- Follow all CO811 guidelines, directions, policies, instructions and requirements as directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma is required, bachelor’s degree is preferred. Completed GED accepted. Military instructor experienced is preferred.
- Minimum of 1+ years of experience in full-time roles in utility locating, excavation, underground utility damage prevention, civil engineering, or equivalent field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in safety standards and education best practices program development, or similar area is preferred. Robust military trainer/course instructor is preferred.
- Experience in underground utility damage prevention, public and employee safety standard application, and safety best practices on construction sites, budgeting, general administration, and project management is preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILL-SET:
- Ability to effectively use MS Office products, digital education technology, and other LMS/educational technology applications is required.
- Experience in underground utility damage prevention, public and employee safety standard application, and safety best practices on construction sites, general administration, and project management is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Colorado One-Call legislation is preferred.
- Excellent, above average, customer service skills.
- Proficient and professional verbal communication and grammar skills.
- Strong ability to speak, read and write in English and Spanish languages.
- Ability to effectively represent CO811 as directed, educate stakeholders in in-person and digital education settings.
- Excellent time management and motivational skill set is required.
- Self-motivated, dependable, flexible schedule and with a clean driving record.
- Able to think & act clearly when dealing with an emergency or stressful situation.
- Excellent map reading skills and geographical knowledge of Colorado is required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Primarily telecommuting with frequent travel to stakeholder work sites and occasional overnight stays.
- Extensive travel throughout assigned field region with occasional travel to Colorado 811 office in Golden, CO, and other state regions as directed.
- Company vehicle with travel expense reimbursement as outlined in company policies, with clean driving record. Must maintain clean driving record for continued use of company vehicle. Requirements subject to change at anytime.
- Follow current dress code policy with expectation of more business appropriate attire and self-presentation beyond basic guidelines.
HOURS: Normal business hours with occasional after-hour and weekend travel, and event participation. Occasional overnight stay may be required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $64,000.00 - $79,000.00 per year
