As a receptionist at Thrive Hair Bar, your role encompasses a multifaceted approach to delivering exceptional service and fostering a welcoming environment for our clientele. The receptionists are responsible for making a welcoming, bright, energetic, and beautiful first impression on all those who walk through our front door, message us via social media and or email, and or call over the phone. Responsibilities include answering phone calls, greeting customers, scheduling appointments, being well-versed on our offerings to make educated suggestions to guests, retail sales, laundry, light cleaning, and handling clerical duties such as photography for social media, record-keeping, research, and data entry. Thrive Hair Bar DC is a premier, luxury natural hair salon proudly located in one of Washington, DC’s most vibrant and historic neighborhoods, H Street NE. We specialize in natural hair styling services, including twists, locs, braids, and blowouts, tailored to enhance and celebrate the beauty of kinky, coily, and curly hair. In addition to our expert styling, we offer personalized consultations and a curated selection of retail products to empower our clients to embrace and care for their unique hair journey. Committed to fostering a sense of community and empowerment, we also host local events that celebrate diversity and promote the normalization of natural hair in every facet of life, from professional to personal to luxurious. Schedule*
- 4:45pm-8:45pm Wednesday through Friday evenings
- 9:45am-6:45pm Saturday and Sundays

Qualifications
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Well spoken
- Stylish and prideful in appearance
- Excellent computer skills (typing, researching using web search engines, data entry, adopting new technology)
- Customer service skills to provide a welcoming and positive experience for clients
- Prior experience in a salon or customer-facing role is a plus
- Responsibilities
- Answering and managing all phone, email, and social media inquiries during salon business hours
- Gaining expertise in Thrive Hair Bar offerings
- Retail sales and checkout
- Hitting target retail sales goals
- Scheduling appointments over the phone
- Attending and actively participating in all team meetings
- Helping stylists clean and disinfect between clients
- Daily Dusting, Sweeping, Mopping, & Laundry
- Making & Serving Coffee, Tea, Water, and Smoothies
- Filing content and data entry
