The Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for providing leadership, guidance and support to the entire team in the areas of guest services, event management, sales efforts, and marketing initiatives for the overall successful day-to-day operations. Provides the first point of contact for guests and is responsible for creating an excellent, memorable first impression. This position is fully committed to ensuring that all procedures are performed to the department and company standards and serve as an ambassador for the hotel.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for Rooms Sales for the hotel both group and transient
- Responsible for maintaining brand integrity and brand representation for entire property
- Compile and submit a weekly sales activity report to ensure progress of action plans
- Clear understanding of the hotels business strategies and goals and to determine action plans to meet those goals
- Update action plans and financial objectives quarterly
- Identify new markets and business opportunities and increase sales
- Represent the Hotel in various events and exhibitions
- Implements all sales action plans as outlined in the marketing plan
- Conducts daily sales calls and arrange site inspection trips to property by clients
- Able to provide quick and timely responses, immediate communication to the property, and develop professional long term business relationships
- Always provide the highest quality of service to the customer
- Participates in sales calls with the goal of acquiring new business and/or close on business
- Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (ex-writing, updating, distributing contracts, BEOs, and various other vehicles of communication from Sales to Operations.
- Able to support property’s service and relationship strategy, driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience
- Work closely with the Revenue Management Team to ensure proposed rate negotiations meet the financial needs of the hotel
- Develop strong relationships with on property front office team to ensure working in unity and always striving to achieve the same goals
- Perform sales calls to potential clients to assist in development of the account
- Attending all department and hotel meetings as necessary
- Targeting key accounts potential for the company
- Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls, entertainment, trade shows, etc.
- Develops relationships within community to strengthen and expand customer base for sales opportunities
- Manages and develops relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Acquiring and developing new business accounts and preparing sales proposals for clients
- Closely following up on all business leads within a 24-hour response timeline to clients
Education
- Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience
- 3+ years in Sales
- Must have thorough knowledge of the El Paso hospitality market
- Prior experience as a Sales Manager in the hotel industry
- Must have a proven record of increasing revenue and profitability through sales strategies
Qualifications & Essential Skills
- Must be organized, detailed, and have excellent interpersonal, communication and follow through skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, sales techniques, and sales control systems
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer need assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- Ability to effectively interact, coordinate and communicate through daily pre-shift meetings with all team members of high guest impact area (i.e., reservations, guest services, housekeeping, kitchen, etc.) to ensure a smooth arrival through departure experience for all guests
- Knowledge of all services/features, hours of operation, room types, room rates, special packages and promotions, daily house count, and expected arrivals/departures, room availability status scheduled in-house group activities to anticipate and respond to guest inquiries promptly and accurately
- Ability to promote and successfully track departmental and organizational initiatives
- Ability to maintain and successfully execute departmental and hotel policies
- Ability to approach internal and external guest opportunities with sense of heartfelt care and urgency; provide prompt follow-up to ensure guest satisfaction
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information and follow proper protocols to secure and protect pertinent information
- Proven ability to effectively build and foster a team environment
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and non-verbally with others

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
The associate must be capable of the following:

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
