Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise Shop Service Technicians – responsibilities include training; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; helping address and resolve customer complaints.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Service Department – Shop and Field
- Coordinate and schedule all activities of shop and field personnel.
- Appraise incoming repair work.
- Develop system to support reconditioning and set-up of equipment.
- Coordinate shop repair services to obtain maximum utilization of Customer’s equipment and prevent operational delays in other departments.
- Coordinate repair estimates to ensure proper dispersal and timely dissemination.
- Develop and implement a quality control procedure to help minimize costly re-works – including spot-checking repair work before delivering to customer.
- Develop a system to update customers and CSRs daily on the status of active repair work. Work with Dispatch to accomplish.
- Maintain spreadsheet to be able to update management and CSRs weekly on status of all shop repairs.
Customer Service Expectations
- Assist in handling Customer complaints and concerns and make sure issue(s) are resolved to the Customer and SWMHCo satisfaction.
- Greet Customers immediately in a courteous manner.
- Treat Customers fairly and with honesty, and demonstrate our commitment to superior Customer Service and ethical business practices.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Technical knowledge to be able to direct repair work is helpful. Re-train as needed.
- Leadership ability to achieve respect of Shop and Field Service Technicians.
- Exceptional communication abilities (speaking, listening, interpreting, etc.)
- Basic computer skills.
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent - College is a plus.
- Good organizational skills.
Physical Demands / Working Conditions
- Noise level in the work environment can be loud.
- Frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach.
- Frequently working near moving mechanical parts.
- Potentially exposed to battery acid, gasoline, chemical cleaning material or other toxic materials commonly found in motor vehicle service departments, some of which may be considered health hazards.
- Occasionally exposed to exhaust fumes or other airborne particles.
