Island Silkscreen is a small family shop based in Long Island. Owner operated; we specialize in small batch production runs. These small-batch runs focus on apparel for other small businesses, schools & family events on Long Island. We also service small order requests from individuals with needs as little as 1 unit. Our production is focused on garments such as tee shirts, hoodies, sweatpants, etc. All production is done in-house.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled, organized and experienced Shop Manager to lead our team and oversee the daily operations of our shop. The Shop Manager will be responsible for coordinating and aiding in all daily activities. Improving customer satisfaction, and creating a positive and productive work flow. This includes a particular focus on deadlines and the production schedule. Duties include, but not limited to, servicing clients over the phone, via email and in person. Aiding in light production work such as heat pressing & embroidery.
Responsibilities:
- Work with clients over the phone, via email, and face to face regarding orders, order details, pricing, etc.
- Validate and ensure the details of personalized artwork such as names, phone numbers, and other such details to ensure accuracy before production.
- Work with graphic artist to ensure graphics are laid out correctly based on client needs/direction.
- Ability to schedule and multitask.
- Monitor work queues to meet deadlines.
- Provide updates on order processing/progress as needed.
- Assist in production which includes, embroidery, screen printing and applying heat transfers.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (NOTE: Training in-house available.)
- Ability to work on a Mac computer.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suites. (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
- Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and/or Corel Draw/Paint is a plus.
- Experience with embroidery and silk screen process as it relates to apparel products is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate via e-mail, phone, or in-person.
- Ability to execute responsibilities with limited supervision.
- Must be efficient & organized.
On the job training will be available for all aspects of production in the shop.
· Work schedule: 3 to 4 days a week. 10am to 6pm. (Possibility for more hours is available.)
· Occasional Saturdays hours. 10am to 2pm.
· Pay: Starting at $25.00 per hour (Negotiable based on skillset).
· Work Location: In person. East Northport Long Island.
Must have a valid driver's license.
