After School Program Teachers are responsible for creating weekly themed lesson plans which include daily enrichment activities in the following subject areas: character education, fine art, literature/reading, STEAM, theater, and writing. They will also be responsible for the general safety, development, growth, and skill achievement of the participants in his/her group. The incumbent will provide high quality indoor/outdoor educational and recreational experiences for participants that focus on Children's World Learning Center and Walton Academy’s core values. The ideal candidate possesses a genuine passion for working with and empowering young people.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Create a safe, nurturing environment where children can play and learn.
- Implementing fun and creative lesson plans that are provided.
- Ability to keep children supervised and safe consistently.
- Building on activities and experience that candidate already possess.
- Build strong relationships with children, their caregivers, and other staff members.
- Ensure that the site/classroom is kept clean, organized, and free of litter.
- Communicate with parents about participant’s experiences and report concerns to management team.
- Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with our after school program. This includes but is not limited to being responsible for children's safety and their whereabouts at all times.
- Bringing a sense of community, love, and positivity to the classroom.
- Accommodating the individual need of each student in the classroom as well as achieving group goals daily and weekly.
- Giving children permission to make positive choices while redirecting students in an encouraging manner when needing extra guidance.
- Implementing a rich diverse visual appeal in the classroom with students art, building structures, and various content.
- Allowing students opportunity to achieve and complete some homework.
- Keen understanding of Developmentally Appropriate Practice with all students consistently.

- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Drive 14 passenger van to and from scheduled field trip destinations. (NO CDL required)
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
