Job Description
Acts as a primary liaison between Hill Physicians Medical Group physicians and practice leaders, contracted ancillary facilities, and PriMed Management. With at least two years of experience in a PSA or comparable role, is considered a journey person who acts as a change agent to physician offices to help improve HPMG related business processes, consults with practices to help improve practice efficiencies and respond to and resolve issues related to operational practices, and acts as a field representative to support corporate initiatives including, but not limited to, physician compensation, Hill policies and procedure updates, health education, marketing and other key business changes that impact regional operations. Identifies and reports potential gaps in physician coverage and opportunities for expansion with an assigned geographic region.
Job Responsibilities
- Educate physician offices on current and updated policies and procedures, and may train to ensure understanding. Conducts practice manager and office staff HPMG orientations. Provides ongoing education to physicians / providers and all levels of office staff, which may include needs assessments, training, evaluations, and development of educational components. Leads presentations in a variety of settings. • Supports corporate introduction, implementation and training for various HPMG projects and initiatives, including but not limited to Hill inSite, Electronic Medical Records, Practice Management Systems, and CMS risk initiatives. • Accountable for analyzing and coordinating resolution or referral of issues in practice offices which may include authorizations, claims submission and reimbursement, payment adjudication, billing / coding issues, chart documentation, and related business process evaluation. • Supports network management activities, including but not limited to delivery and review of specialty bonuses; review of and education on PMG methodology; and delivery, review and explanation of patient satisfaction survey results with physicians and staff. • Meet with physicians and staff to discuss P4P, Cozeva, performance, clinical measures, utilization, patient satisfaction, participation and membership totals and provide support and recommendations for improvements in each area. • Support a variety of non-eSolution-related corporate initiatives that may include health education, HIPAA compliance, marketing / membership initiatives, and market development initiatives.
- Supports / maintains physician data and changes in network composition through PIM / Vistar. Ensures that network data is current and that changes are promptly documented.
Required Experience
- Must have 2 – 3 years’ experience as a PSA or other physician-office centric role, with demonstrated, in depth understanding of eSolutions, physician compensation elements, practice management systems, and advanced problem identification and resolution skills.
- Experience in physician office business operations highly desired
- Strong verbal and written-communication skills
- Excellent public speaking skills; training experience helpful
- Aptitude, familiarity or experience with current healthcare technology applications for physician offices, such as practice management systems, electronic medical records, and/or billing systems.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and tasks
- Strong client orientation and demonstrated ability to identify and resolve complex issues
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-9 / ICD-10 and HCPCS coding highly desirable
- Self-directed and able to work productively independently, yet able to function well in a team-oriented environment
- Valid California Driver’s License and proof of auto insurance
