Description:
Summary: The Facilities Custodian is responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, and cleanliness of all areas of the facility. This role plays a vital part in maintaining the physical appearance and operational efficiency of our premises. Works collaboratively as part of the Facilities Team.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Perform thorough cleaning of all public and event spaces as well as staff office areas on the 1st floor, including but not limited to:

Cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors in the CAC Space.

Disinfecting and cleaning all glass surfaces, including front doors and windows both inside and out.

Dusting models in both galleries and disposing of trash in bathrooms, Box Office, and Call Center areas.

Maintain cleanliness of all event spaces on the Plaza Level, including:

Cleaning and disinfecting all surfaces, disposing of trash, sweeping, and mopping floors in the Design Studio

Maintaining the Lecture Hall by cleaning surfaces, floors, and interior windows as needed.

Manage cleaning tasks in the 13th suite office space and kitchen:
-
Clean and disinfect desks, counters, kitchen, and conference room tables.

Vacuum carpeted areas and dispose of trash and outdated food in the kitchen refrigerator as needed.

Provide flexible availability for evening events, ensuring spaces are clean and presentable before, during, and after events.

Monitor building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure hazards are not created.

Maintain inventory of cleaning and repair supplies, placing orders as needed.

Respond to emergency cleaning or repair needs promptly to ensure minimal disruption to operations.

Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies at all times.

Requirements:
Professional Experience:
-
Minimum of a High School diploma or GED with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience involving custodial, janitorial or facilities roles

Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
Other Requirements:

Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies

Ability to work flexible and variable hours including some weekends and evening

Ability to respond quickly to emergency cleaning or urgent security needs

Interest in cultural institutions and museum environments.

Physical and ADA Requirements:
-
Must be able to navigate various floor type and staris.

Ability to lift, push, pull, and move cleaning equipment, furniture, and supplies up to 40lbs.

Capable of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching during shift.

Must be able to work with cleaning chemicals and handle physical tasks requiring manual dexterity.
