Job Summary:
Ohio Premium Provisions, Inc. an authorized local purveyor for the Boar's Head Brand is seeking Route Sales Representatives to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering and selling products directly to customers along assigned routes. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to drive sales through effective upselling techniques. You will be part of a team selling a premium Brand.
The Route Sales Representative is responsible for developing ongoing, profitable relationships with customers and continually maintaining a professional image of the company. Integrity, passion, and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.
Job Responsibilities Include:
Responsible for the completion of Mandatory GoSpotCheck Missions
- Create weekly orders for accounts maintaining proper inventory amounts and minimizing shrink.
- Monitor for distressed product, fill out 10 day sheet and tag items, inventory count and order placement.
- On every visit ensure that there are NO outdated products on the retail floor, or in the Service case or in the back walk-in cooler. Facilitate the proper disposal and cataloguing of outdated products.
- On every visit ensure that there are NO outdated open products in the Service case. Monitor that all open product is properly date tagged and wrapped.
- Utilize Ohio Premium Provisions, Inc. online Order Guide System
- Take an active role in the management of “shorts” and coordinate with warehouse manager the proper catalogue of items shorted. Ensure that items shorted are committed to next scheduled delivery.
- Take an active role in the management of “holes” in service case displays. Utilize the tools and proper communication channels to minimize/ eliminate perceived out of stock positions.
- Ensure the proper cataloguing and scheduling of Special order requests.
- Inform regular customers of new products or services.
- Organize and implement a promotional plan in coordination with the Focus Items of the Month for applicable retailers/accounts.
- Utilize Sales Events as part of your sales growth strategy.
- Review of future promotional plan and selling event schedule with manager/Owner(s). Confirm that proper inventory levels are kept for promotional period. Submit estimate of promotional period item pull for Ohio Premium inventory levels.
- Ensure the delivery and proper placement of Period Promotional “Sale” signs, and everyday POP
- Organize and implement a merchandising and space management plan for the Service case and Retail set focused around current marketing initiative. Ensure new product updates are handled effectively with product knowledge training and POP materials at store level.
- Develop and implement special promotional programs for new items and seasonal events such as Easter, Halloween, local college football games, Christmas, etc. Actively involve manager/Owner(s) with planning and support roles. Ensure store staff understands the significance of these specialized events and provide encouragement to project maximum enthusiasm leading to optimal exposure. Confirm a team-based approach to special promotional programs.
- Fills Nutritional information and recipe holders at every delivery. Provides back stock of Nutritional information and recipe materials.
- Delivers items by preparing, loading, unloading, operating, and cleaning a truck; developing sales; maintaining records.
- Prepares truck for operation by inspecting general condition; checking fluid levels and tire pressure; report all maintenance issues to VP of Operations.
- Loads truck by ordering, placing, and securing items.
- Delivers items by identifying destinations; establishing route; operating the truck; unloading items; maintaining schedule.
- Serves customers by understanding and resolving or forwarding complaints; adjusting orders.
- acknowledgments; recording tracking information; completing driver log and truck performance forms.
Physical Requirements:
1. Must be able to lift/carry product overhead 35 lbs
2. Must be able to push/pull loads up to 300lbs
3. Must be able to reach, climb, bend, push, pull twist
4. Must be able to kneel for long periods
5. Must use their hands to control objects and controls
6. Stand for long periods of time

Responsibilities:
- Drive a designated route to deliver and sell products to customers
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships
- Utilize upselling strategies to increase sales volume
- Communicate with customers in a professional manner
- Manage inventory levels on the route vehicle
- Ensure accurate pricing and invoicing
- Complete necessary paperwork and documentation
Experience:
- Prior experience in sales or customer service preferred
- Ability to drive a delivery vehicle safely and efficiently
- Strong organizational skills to manage route schedules effectively
- Proficiency in basic math for invoicing and pricing accuracy
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers professionally
- Capability to sell products effectively during customer interactions
- Familiarity with route driving and geographical knowledge is a plus
