The State Plaza Hotel, a 241-room and suite hotel located in Foggy Bottom, is seeking a diligent and experienced Hotel Executive Housekeeper to oversee our housekeeping department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces are impeccably clean and well-maintained. The Executive Housekeeper will lead a team of housekeeping and laundry staff, set cleaning standards, manage inventory, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping and laundry department, including assigning tasks, scheduling staff, and ensuring adequate coverage.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules and procedures to maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the hotel.
- Train, supervise, and motivate housekeeping and laundry staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure cleanliness and compliance with hotel standards.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ordering supplies as needed and ensuring proper storage and usage.
- Handle guest requests and complaints promptly and professionally, resolving issues to the satisfaction of guests.
- Monitor and control departmental expenses, including labor and supplies, to meet budgetary goals.
- Maintain a safe working environment for staff, adhering to health and safety regulations and conducting regular training on safety procedures.
- Collaborate with other hotel departments, such as front office and maintenance, to ensure seamless guest experiences.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a housekeeping leadership role in a hotel or similar environment.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
