Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our healthcare facility.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Director of Nursing Services (DNS) in managing responsibilities and upholding the quality of care.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with regulations and facilitate effective communication among nursing staff at all levels.
- Be available 24 hours a day to address nursing-related emergencies and concerns.
- Coordinate and oversee nursing service planning to meet the medical needs of residents.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of general nursing theory and practice to guide decision-making and staff training.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of medical records in line with regulatory standards.
- Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and orientation of new nursing staff to maintain a skilled and cohesive team.
- Supervise daily staffing to ensure appropriate nurse-to-resident ratios and optimal care provision.
- Conduct weekly rounds to assess wound and skin conditions, ensuring comprehensive care for all residents.
- Implement infection control measures to minimize healthcare-associated infections.
- Maintain flexibility in your schedule to address unpredictable needs and ensure continuous resident care coverage.
Qualifications:
- Active NY State RN license
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Long-Term Care settings.
- Strong communication skills are essential.
- Demonstrated basic leadership and supervision abilities.
- Flexibility with work hours.
- Preferred: 2 years of management experience.
- Preferred: 1 year of experience in staff education.
