JOB SUMMARY
This job is in the Human Resources job family (Department), which covers administrative positions that manage, supervise, administer, advise on, or deliver human resources management products or services. The Development & Learning Specialist assesses company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and will create, develop, implement, and administer training and development programs for employees. This position will require an individual to exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to training initiatives/programs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Independently designs, develops, and manages training program(s) and objectives for supervisory employees to meet the organization's needs.
- Collaborates with Human Resource Director and C-Suite to determine training needs.
- Reviews training needs and modifies, improves, or develops new training programs to meet those needs.
- Maintains knowledge of new methods and techniques for training, and training requirements applicable to the organization.
- Creates materials for new training program or seminars.
- Uses classroom training and demonstration methods, meetings, and workshops to plan, develop, and provide training and staff development programs.
- Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements.
- Evaluates program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback.
- Works effectively and collaborates with managers and other HR staff.
- Maintains records and reports of expenses.
- Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.

REQUIRED & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 5 years of experience designing and implementing employee development programs, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, required.
- High School diploma/GED required.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, or a related field required.
- Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) preferred.
- Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) preferred.
- Experience with instructional design, curriculum development, and training delivery required.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively required.
