Summary
The Supervisor of Security provides support overseeing security operations, managing security personnel, and implementing policies and procedures to maintain a secure environment. Ensures adherence to department and Father Joe’s Villages policies and procedures. Coordinates onboarding and training process working with department leadership. Regularly communicates and provides coordination with law enforcement and other emergency service personnel. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience in security management, and a commitment to supporting vulnerable populations.
Essential Functions

Onboarding and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing security related functions (e.g., monthly shift meetings, post checks) 1

Oversees the staffing, scheduling, and training for security personnel

Employee relations matters such as timekeeping, periodic and annual evaluations

Manages Report to Staff grievance process with clients and ensures proper documentation, works with other programs to manage client interactions

Assist with investigations and prepares reports which may include CCTV and/or access control documentation

Respond to security incidents and emergencies, coordinating with law enforcement and emergency services as necessary

Conduct regular security audits to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend assist with implementing improvements.

On time completion of assigned training and policies

Performs other duties as assigned (e.g. Security Officer duties)
Qualifications

Associate's Degree or equivalent experience

At least 4 years of security experience

At least 2 years of leadership experience to include training, performance management, counseling and retaining an engaged and accountable workforce

Adult CPR/First Aid/AED certified

CA Guard Card certification
-
O.C. Pepper Spray permit

Baton permit
-
Intermediate user of MS Office
