SUMMARY
The main job function is to repair electronic equipment found in proprietary hardware used in the pari-mutual industry. The individual will work on a team of responders that provide troubleshooting, customer support to other United Tote work personnel at race tracks and high quality repairs on all types of UT equipment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a team setting in a warehouse using various electronic diagnostic tools.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Utilizing Volt, Ohm, Amp meters, soldering equipment and oscilloscopes to diagnosis and repair proprietary hardware used at race tracks.
- Troubleshooting and repairing component level complex electronic or electro-mechanical assemblies, sub-assemblies and total systems.
- Troubleshooting/repairing machine malfunctions.
- Assembling of cables and sub-assemblies.
- Performing product quality analysis.
- Using computer diagnostic programs and test equipment to determine quality and acceptability of products; evaluate failures/malfunctions for design weakness and recommends design changes to improve quality; prepare and maintain appropriate paperwork, extensive records and reports on test results and repair actions for future analysis; program computer with small diagnostic routines to aid in troubleshooting; recommend and carry out modifications to test procedures and techniques to enhance efficiency.
- Will participate onsite at special events such as the Kentucky Derby or Breeders’ Cup.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must be able work flexible hours, including overtime, occasional weekends and holidays.
- A minimum of an Associate’s degree, electronic technician certificate or completion of equivalent technical course or comparable education.
- A minimum of two years related experience required.
- Ability to use volt, ohm, amp meters, soldering equipment and oscilloscopes.
- Working knowledge of computers and printers.
- Pari-mutuel industry experience, interest and/or knowledge preferred.
- Experience in Microsoft Office programs.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Some local or in state travel may be required.
