JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Technical Support Representative (TSR) to join our team. As a Technical Support Representative, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to our customers on all products, both manufactured and distributed. Technical Support works in conjunction with Sales to handle customer inquires. The TSR may also be asked to lend their experience to the Engineering, Quality, and Repair teams.
The TSR will represent Crest in a professional manner and be a strong advocate for the customer. The TSR will take advantage of opportunities to make sales that benefit the customer and Crest. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving and has a passion for technology.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for assisting Crest's customers with inquiries and issues of a technical nature (phone call, email). All interactions will be conducted in a courteous and professional manner. The TSR must be a customer advocate.
- The TSR will use their product knowledge and available resources to assist customers with product installation as well as making decisions regarding the most appropriate product9(s) to meet their needs. This may also include the sharing of non-proprietary technical documentation to customers via email. This documentation includes schematics, illustrations and system manuals that Crest possesses and product data sheets.
- If needed the TSR will assist Sales in sourcing products of a technical nature for our customers that are not available to be purchased directly from us. This may requires the TSR to conduct research and contact Crest vendors to find the product(s) requested by our customers.
- TSR will ensure an accurate and timely response to all technical inquires both internal and external.
- Accurately process all necessary forms and records. This will require being detail orientated and able to organize information while talking with the customer.
- Conceptualize new product ideas based on customer requests and feedback to be considered for creation. This will require a clear explanation of the product idea and the corresponding details.
- TSR must be able to adapt to changes in the business and customer demands. This may include extra detail or information tracking, providing feedback to other departments, or extra tasks.
- TSR must work cooperatively within the department sharing knowledge and experience for the benefit of our customers.
- TSR may assist with additional projects at the discretion of the Technical Support Manager.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Technical degree in Electronics preferred, and/or experience repairing, installing and supporting low voltage signaling equipment. Experience working with Nurse Call systems a plus.
- High level of mechanical and electrical aptitude and well-developed troubleshooting skills required.
- Customer service skills required. Minimum of 1 year field or telephone support experience is preferred.
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills as well as effective listening skills.
- Strong computer skills and extensive experience with MS Windows and MS Office.
- Superior time management, detail and analytical skills required.
